It’s time to share another amazing OwlCrate box with you all! The mail has ground to a halt here in Canada and my OwlCrate Jr boxes are stuck, stuck, stuck in customs … but my November OwlCrate box managed to sneak through the barrier and I’m excited to share all the goodies! So here’s a look at the November “Growing Wild” box:
First off is an item I’ve never seen included in a book box before – your own wooden flower press kit. This flower press was designed by Peppermint Lines with artwork inspired by the A Darker Shade of Magic series by V. E. Schwab. I’m looking forward to using this in the spring, summer – and even fall – to press some special blooms and leaves, adding texture to my instagram photos and journal pages!
It has become an annual tradition for OwlCrate to include a yearly book journal/planner. Continuing to collaborate with Blue Star Press, this year’s journal is padded with numerous pages to keep your TBRs organized and your reading on track. Including blank monthly spreads (each with a unique bookish quote), weekly spreads with to-do lists, monthly TBR pages, wish lists, book review sections, favourite quotes pages, and more! Everything you need to stay atop of your 2021 reads. This year’s journal features muted tones of greens and bright oranges with lots of cacti accents, it definitely has strong desert vibes!
What is a planner without stickers? Included with the planner are these fun sticker pages from Pipsticks (a favourite sticker company of mine and I highly recommend a monthly sticker subscription from them!). These stickers feature one page of holographic, sparkly forest themed stickers with mushrooms, foliage, etc and a sheet of blank bookish themed stickers – including book stacks, OwlCrate boxes, etc., that you can colour in yourself or leave blank. I can never get enough sticker joy in my life!
Next up is this gorgeous gold foiled jewelry box that features a quote from Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore, designed by Studio Kyra. Wild Beauty is an absolutely stunning magical realism book that was featured in the October 2017 Find Me In The Forest box. Inside is a beautiful, long, dandelion pendant necklace that features three small dandelion seeds inside. I hope it brings you great luck in 2021!
Lastly, Rheannon Ormond created a lovely set of beautifully illustrated and imaginative Middle Earth plant prints. Send one as a postcard to a Lord of the Rings fan to brighten their day, frame them individually or as a collection as a decoration to your office/bookshelves, or insert them in your planners & journals! Whatever you choose, these lovely prints will add a perfect subtle touch of bookish “nerdiness” to your projects and home space.
Time for the monthly book pick! This month we will be venturing into a world of enchanted, sinister forests, magical forest creature companions, and a gardener’s daughter on a quest to save her father and kingdom in Among The Beasts & Briars by Ashley Poston. This gorgeous OwlCrate exclusive hardcover book came with a completely different colour scheme cover – featuring purples and pinks on a dark background, lovely fuchsia pink sprayed edges, signed by the author, with a letter from the author, and absolutely stunning reversible dust jacket artwork by Cathrin Peterslund. It’s a truly stunning special edition of this book!
This month’s accompanying pin might just be my favourite ever … designed by Morgane Brret Shop, it features the magical bear that plays a prominent role in Among The Beasts & Briars, I can’t wait to learn more about the bear and fox companions in the story!
