October’s Wield Your Blade box is one of my favourite boxes this year – wait until you see this month’s beautiful book – so let’s just dive right in …

I find puzzles super relaxing and love to pair them with an audiobook or just some classical music playing in the background. My mind completely shuts off for awhile … I am definitely not as good at them as my daughter and hubby, but I try! This 300 piece puzzle designed by Dri Gomez was inspired by the amazing Call Down The Hawk & The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I love this series! 

You can put a candle in every single box and I would be forever happy! Funnily, Flick the Wick was the first candle I got in my very first OwlCrate box, and it was inspired by The Raven Cycle … how uncanny is all that? It was absolutely amazing. Flick the Wick has delivered another fantastic candle inspired by Kamigoroshi, the godslayer sword in Shadow of the Fox. The scents include: Persimmon, Citrus, Nectarine. 

Stella of Stella Bookish Art always creates the most dreamy, sparkly, magical designs and this month she has created a beautiful metal tin sewing kit inspired by Spin the Dawn. The extent of my sewing how-to includes sewing buttons and small tears, so this little kit full of spools of thread, a measuring tape, and itty bitty scissors, is perfect for me.

Next up is this Lord of the Rings inspired acrylic display. Sakura Inked has hand-lettered this beautiful, iconic poem by none other than Bilbo Baggins, in honour of Aragorn. I think this adds just the right touch of dainty nerdy design to your bookshelf or desk. 

For all you Rey and Kylo Ren shippers out there, you’ll appreciate this Star Wars lovely art print designed by Jemlin (shown in main unboxing pic). 

This month’s monthly enamel pin was designed by Icey Designs. It is a really lovely, intricately detailed pin representing the magical sword from Jade Fire Gold.

Which brings us to the monthly book pick: Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan! This crazy gorgeous special OwlCrate edition came with an exclusive dust jacket, forest green sprayed edges, a large gold foil stamp on the hardback,  incredible reversible dust jacket artwork from artist Kim Ekdahl, signed by the author AND an author letter! Seriously, this edition is major impressive.
