OwlCrate Jr started 2021 with a bang with this great box full of super fun goodies and a highly anticipated middle grade read that is receiving great early praise! Here’s what was inside the January Inner Magic box:

I know I’ve said it before, but I absolutely love getting yummy smelling bath products in book boxes and this month OwlCrate Jr included a fresh, fruity bath bubble from Whipped Up Wonderful. Our bath bubble had scents of orange and peach and all things fruity, but various scents were sent out. These awesome bubble bars were inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Cold winter days inside full of reading means we need plenty of hot drinks! Riddle’s Tea Shoppe has crafted this delicious caffeine free, rooibos tea with vanilla and caramel flavours and cinnamon spice … it really just tastes like a mug full of coffee cake! I’m always excited to get a Riddle’s Tea creation because their teas are gluten free, nut and dairy free which is important in my allergy sensitive household.

Next up we have this delightful collection of 20 super colourful gel pens. These gel pens come in their own case so you can keep everything nice and contained and together! A wide selection of neon, vibrant, and sparkle coloured pens were included and after testing every colour out I can honestly say they are some of the best gel pens I’ve tried! Super pigmented, write incredibly smoothly … and who doesn’t want sparkles in their ink?

To go with our gel pens is the great You Are Awesome Journal by Matthew Syed. This black and white journal comes crammed full of pages to inspire, motivational quotes, introspective activities, quizzes, journalling prompts, and creative idea pages to fill to your individual heart’s content. Hopefully inspiring you to embrace the creative, magical you that you are!

The very first middle grade my daughter and I read together was actually The Apprentice Witch in 2017, so this really beautiful art print featuring a lovely quote from the book is super special to me! Designed by @ladychubbletters, I will definitely be framing this and hanging it in my daughter’s room.

This month’s collectible sticker was designed by @jestinasoutherland and I am seriously intrigued to see the role this little critter will play in our monthly book pick.

Which brings us to the monthly book, Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston. This gorgeous book came with an OwlCrate Jr exclusive cover, a signed bookplate, letter from the author, and a special bonus bookmark.
