My first comic recommendation! I am so excited for this month’s pick, it is an absolutely magical, hopeful, inclusive, diverse package of joy that I cannot recommend enough.

Fiery, passionate and quirky Snapdragon feels like the odd one out. She doesn’t have friends, she doesn’t fit in — and she’s ok with that! But the real problem is that her town has a witch. Well, that is the rumour. In reality Jacks is simply a croc-wearing, spunky old lady who sells roadkill skeletons online. Creepy, yes … witch, maybe not.

Snapdragon is fascinated by this cool lady and begins helping her with her strange work. As she continues to learn and befriend Jacks, she realizes Jacks has an unlikely connection to Snap’s own family … and maybe there is some real magic at play here after all.

Packed full of humour and heart, this is a truly moving, truly unforgettable, truly mesmerizing story. A forever favourite.
