A Heart So Fierce and Broken

It’s time for another Currently – a little monthly chit-chat in which I share a snapshot of the things I’m enjoying/doing/reading etc, along with a monthly playlist.

This month, I’m leaning into all things Valentine’s Day. I’m not normally a major Valentine’s Day enthusiast, but it’s been a rough couple months and it is important to celebrate the happy when opportunity arises. So this month’s playlist is a short collection of love songs that doesn’t drive me bananas … love songs, typically, aren’t my thing. But this playlist will have you baking heart shaped cookies and making little Valentine’s out of construction paper and glitter in no time.

Currently Reading: A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer, The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar (audiobook).

Currently Loving: Audiobooks! What rock have I been under??

Currently Watching: A smodge-podge of Gilmore Girls, Frasier, Masterchef and Doctor Who.

Currently Making: Valentine’s vegan vanilla cakes (that were supposed to be cookies, but oh well) with all the pink sprinkles and about three times a week a surprisingly delicious creamy pumpkin, cheesy pasta sauce.

Currently Drinking: Apparently my inner child is needing attention because I’m all about the hot chocolate loaded with marshmallows lately. It’s the small joys that get us through these dark, long days of winter.

Currently Listening: When not tuning in to audiobooks, I’m playing this L-O-V-E playlist. Enjoy!

Welcome to And other tales. The little corner of the interweb where we don’t count cups of coffee, believe cancelling plans to stay home & read is just good life advice, refuse to acknowledge the calories in baked goods and will never judge you on the number of marshmallows in your hot chocolate or the size of your TBR piles. Curl up, get comfy and click through for book reviews, life chats, playlists, vegan & gluten free baking recipes, gift guides and more.
