I’ve been all about the Dark Academia this August/September – researching for my big Guide to Dark Academia article and just reading a plethora of novels in the genre … so I was very excited by OwlCrate’s announcement of their August theme. I can’t wait to read A Lesson in Vengeance … maybe it will appear on a recommended Dark Academia 2.0! Here are the goodies included this month:

A new book sleeve designed by Dri Gomez (@_saintdri)! The Raven Boys is excellent Dark Academia and an all around superior fall read, so this is a perfect fandom to include in this box.

Next up is the third release in the four-part collectible book tin based on V.E. Schwab’s Darker Shade of Magic series. Forensics and Flowers has been doing a fantastic job designing this collector tin series, this time focusing in on White London.

It’s always a pleasure to receive a Riddle’s Tea Shoppe tea blend and the brilliant creators have delivered a calming cuppa based on the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson. Their Ellingham Academy Brew is a blend of chamomile, rooibos, rose hips, hibiscus, apple pieces, natural strawberry flavour, strawberries, and raspberry leaves.

Tes from @paperbackbones designed two items in this month’s box. First is this stationery set inspired by Dellecher Academy from If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. This kit contains all you need to annotate or study or journal – with page flags, sticky notes, a pen, and a tear out sheet notepad.

The second item is this very delicate metal bookmark from The Secret History, featuring the quote from the book: “It is better to know one book intimately than a hundred superficially.”

Keep track of all the books in your collection with your own “from the library of” rubber stamp, designed by Little Inklings Design. A handy, reusable alternative to sticker book plates.

Lastly, the book of the month: A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee! This book came signed by the author, with an author letter, silver foil edges, reversible dust jacket artwork from Nicole Deal and an exclusive foil stamp on the hardback. As always, the amazing monthly pin inspired by the monthly book was designed by Icey Designs.

If you missed out on this month’s box there are some available in the shop at owlcrate.com. Don’t miss out on September’s Haunted Hearts box, subscribe now and use code TALES15 to save at checkout!!
