I just have to say, I’m in love with the teal and turquoise blue of the OwlCrate Winter Wishes box! I mean, just look at all those pretty pretty blues. Team OwlCrate sent us some major delight to cheer us up in this long, dreary month of January with a lovely, wintery collection of goodies (but can definitely be enjoyed anytime of year!). Here’s what was inside:
Taking inspiration from Naomi Novik’s Spinning Silver, Lady Chubb Letters designed this lovely mug featuring the quote: “One day the wind would blow & the temperature would drop” on one side and continuing the quote on the other side “& in the middle of the night a frost would creep over my threshold.” I love Lady Chubb’s lettering and this mug is really lovely. I’ll be reading Spinning Silver as part of my year-long Buzzword reading challenge, so it’s perfect timing!
It is always a joy to receive tea from Riddle’s Tea Shoppe! They create delicious tea blends that are always gluten, dairy, and nut free so it’s safe for this allergy-crazy household to enjoy, and I really appreciate that. And their labels are always so freaking amazing! In this box we received a yummy chocolate peppermint blend inspired by Wintersong. Peppermint tea is my favourite tea!
To go along with our tea, OwlCrate included a perfect scoop tea scoop. Simply add one level scoop of loose leaf tea to your favourite steeper, per serving cup, and steep to perfection! This OwlCrate stainless steel scoop also doubles as a bag clip.
Janine Lecour creates absolutely stunning pieces and I was really happy to hear OwlCrate teamed with her again for the Winter Wishes box. These two book themed gift bags have a wintery vibe, but aren’t necessarily just for Christmas – in fact I think I’ll be using mine when travelling (whenever that is a thing again!) and keeping them for myself thankyouverymuch!
Wintertime, anytime can be stressful and I know I suffer from tension headaches … not to mention that pesky eye strain that comes from reading too much! So OwlCrate included this luxuriously soft, gel bead eye mask to relieve our aches and pains. Simply chill in the fridge for about half an hour and then rest over eyes or forehead. It is a really lovely mask and feels wonderful for tired, achy eyes. And, of course, keeping everything nice and bookish with a quote from The Invisible Life of Addie Larue on it!
NaturalAnnie Essentials repackaged one of their top selling candles for this box and I totally understand why this Vanilla Buttercream candle is so popular! Rather being overly sweet there are darker notes of maple that really balance it well. It’s just an all around comforting scent that really relaxes me and I highly recommend checking out this small business!
Ivy Designs created this beautiful moon enamel pin inspired by the exclusive OwlCrate cover of A Universe of Wishes. This inclusive anthology had many fantastic authors contributing short stories to the project which aims to see more Own Voices in fantasy. This exclusive edition came with a recoloured cover, foil design on the hardback, exclusive endpapers, a white ribbon bookmark, and letter from editor Dhonielle Clayton bound inside the book.
