After trudging through the trenches of a difficult January, I needed a read that imparted genuine heartfelt happiness. Enter Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. This YA Contemporary is so moving, so funny, and has one of my most favourite swoon-worthy romances.
Sixteen year old Simon hasn’t come out yet, except through email to Blue – an anonymous fellow student at his high school who is also gay. With their identities hidden they are able to share a private connection and friendship … until Martin discovers those emails and threatens to leak them to the whole school, unless Simon helps him secure a date with his friend Abby. Thus begins this hilarious, incredibly touching, emotional and genuinely sweet story about friendship, identity, and acceptance. Trust me, it will make you smile.
