This box! It’s as if team OwlCrate asked me personally what I would like to see in a box, and then curated it just for moi. I mean this theme – Lost in a Book – pretty much describes the waking majority of my life! Here’s what was inside July’s wonderful box:

A MATILDA MUG!! Ok, so we are still in the middle of a major showdown fight over this incredible mug, because look at it! It’s amazing! I was read Matilda in grade two and soon after the 90s movie was released … I watched that movie into the ground! I loved pretending I was Matilda standing on her coffee table making everything fly around her. Probably my favourite mug included yet! Artwork by on of my all time favs – Risa Rodil.

Speaking of movies I burned out … Beauty and the Beast! I mean, Belle’s library is the stuff of our bookworm dreams, so this gorgeous tasseled bookmark is an instant favourite. Designed by Kelly Leigh Miller.

My daughter was exceptionally excited to get her own secret book storage tin, the fact that it was Harry Potter is just the cherry on top. The artwork on this piece is amazing – we spent a long time just pointing out all the incredible details, with something new discover each time we look at it. I know she is going to have blast coming up with all sorts of trinkets and treasures to store inside. Artwork by the amazing Anne Lambelet, the creative genius behind OwlCrate’s famous HP umbrella from 2019.

Lost in a book enamel pin by Dust & Pages. We are an enamel pin obsessed family and this awesome pin will look great on our jackets this fall or a backpack or lunch bag or anywhere we feel the need to declare our bookworm status to the world.

Fairytale inspired coloured pencil set and Activity Book, full of puzzles and illustrations by many past artists. I L O V E this set. Such a great idea! Each pencil colour is inspired by a different fairytale element – Riding Hood Red, Goldilocks Yellow, Glass Slipper Light Blue, Evil Queen Purple – and each pencil has OwlCrate Jr engraved on the bottom in gold. Love love this set with the accompanying activity book! Artists include: Shafer Brown (@shaferbrown), Melanie Demmer (@melaniedemmer), Susie Ghahremani (@boygirlparty), and Alex Clauss (@aclaussdesign).

The adorable monthly collectible sticker was designed by Samantha Curcio.

Finally, the July book pick was The Time of Green Magic by Hilary McKay, which came with an exclusive OwlCrate Jr cover, signed by the author and with an author letter! A monthly magazine is included every month full of cool stuff from author interviews, community features, puzzles, science/craft projects, book recommendations, and more!
