Time to catch up on some unboxings! Let’s dive into the December 2022 OwlCrate box, which really ended the year on a high note – a great box full of useful, beautiful items!

Starting out with this Serpent & Dove inspired ceramic salt and pepper shaker set designed by Lichen & Limestone. I really enjoyed this story when it first came out, but I’ve since forgotten so much about it! So I don’t really know what these shakers are referencing, but they are still beautiful. If you know, let me know!

Lady Chubb Letters has designed and lettered this beautiful tea bag rest, with a quote from These Violent Delights. Always a complete pro, team OwlCrate also included a reusable, silicone tea bag … keep this handy for the next Riddles Tea Shoppe surprise!

I’m a broken record, but Strange the Dreamer is still my favourite YA series of all time, so I am always happy to receive an item inspired by the fandom. This beautiful wall hanging fabric organizer, designed by Off the Hook Studio, is truly gorgeous! It will be perfect in a pantry or an entryway to organize various knickknacks and odds n ends! (Mine is hanging by desk and currently organizing pokemon cards, everyone to their own!)

I absolutely love this beautiful bookmark pair designed by Kim Carlika Art – so much so that I hope OwlCrate continues to send out bookmark pairs like it in the future! Featuring star-crossed lovers Akiva & Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Elias & Laia from An Ember in the Ashes.

Maybe I don’t need anymore reusable straw sets (a very popular item in book and subscription boxes it seems 😉 … but these are definitely the most fun ones I have in the collection! These golden heart-shaped metal straws came in a drawstring canvas pouch (with included brush cleaner), that features a quote from Bridgerton lettered by Wink and Wonder.

You can use the QR code on this Unseelie bookmark to go check out a sample of the upcoming novel, due out in 2023.

And lastly, it is the final collectible literary luggage pin from Hey Atlas Creative. This time inspired by Outlander. I have loved this enamel pin collection and think Cade did a magnificent job! Did you have a favourite pin through the year? (I’m partial to The Night Circus pin myself.)

And finally, the book! What a special edition subscribers were treated to this month! This signed edition of The Poison Season by Mara Rutherford came with a completely redesigned cover by @rosdottir (who also created the beautiful end pages), reversible dust jacket artwork by @niru.sky, hardcover case artwork by @charliebowater. An author letter from Mara was also included!

If you missed out on this box, go check out the shop to snag one while supplies last. Great things are coming in 2023 so subscribe now to not miss out! Remember you can use code TALES15 to save yourself 15% off your first box in a new subscription.
