March’s OwlCrate Jr. box was stuffed full of cuteness and happiness – my ten-year-old was over the moon for this one! Here’s all the goodies that came in March’s box:
Two books this month! Included in every box was an exclusive paperback copy of The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate, featuring a uniquely exclusive cover only for OwlCrate Jr. subscribers! This iconic story is simply adorable, tender, heartfelt … and I still haven’t been able to make myself read all of it because I simply cry and cry and cry by about page 3!! But I’ve got the audiobook fired up from my library and we’re ready to take it on!
The elephant in the room … this amazing Elephant stuffie from Aurora World is simply the softest, cutest (how many times is that word going to appear in this write-up?) little friend and my stuffed animal obsessed daughter is in love. I really appreciate the environmental consciousness of Aurora World – using recycled plastic water bottles in the stuffing, all packaging is recyclable and made from recycled paper, and they even include a mini facts tag about elephants! The quality of this stuffie is excellent and I’m amazed that OwlCrate Jr. is able to include quality items like this each month!
I’ve said it before and I say it again – Ooly makes the most fun stationery products … and that’s saying something because this stationery crazy family of mine is pretty picky! This adorable jumbo elephant eraser is simply brilliant and always puts a smile on my face. I mean, it’s so realistic and so, well, jumbo!
Did I mention that I’m stationery addict? I can never get enough of the fantastic gel pens OwlCrate and OwlCrate Jr. include in their boxes – seriously, one every month would be absolutely fine by me! This cute elephant topped gel pen is a wonderful new addition to our collection.
The monthly sticker was designed by @daughter_earth_illustration and it’s so … you guessed it … cute! This talented artist also designed the elephant bookmark that was included along with the book: instead of a promotional item Penguin Random House Canada made a donation to elephanatics.org – an elephant advocacy organization. How awesome is that?
Lastly, is the book! March’s book pick is another one that I have my eye on in my anticipated middle grade reads of 2021 list – The Elephant in the Room by Holly Goldberg Sloan. A tender story about immigration, family, and, of course, elephants! I think this will be a very touching story and I can’t wait to read it with my daughter. The book also came a signature plate and author letter!
Such a wonderful box of joy this month and you can snag one in the shop if you missed out! April’s LEGENDARY COURAGE boxes are on sale now – a box for all you mythology fans, as each box will have a Percy Jackson item and an exclusive paperback copy of another mythological story in the Rick Riordan Presents umbrella (released last year!)
