“Thieves in the Night”

The August OwlCrate Jr “Thieves in the Night” box was so much fun! Centring around excellent literary thieves from Aladdin to Robin Hood this crate came packed with creative inspiration to launch imaginary thievery.

Starting off with this Funko Five star Aladdin figurine, complete with Abu and the lamp! Perfect for the classic Aladdin lover or any fan of the new live action film!

Of course any box about thieves couldn’t be complete without a nod to the classic thieving duo Robin Hood and Little John. Craftedvan created this adorable magnetic set for OwlCrate Jr and as always, they knocked it out of the park with adorableness and attention to detail!

Thief kit: complete with “The Target/ The Goal” blue notebook, bandit mask, and large green jewel. I cannot express how much my little loves this kit. She immediately put on this mask and was playing/planning/plotting all types of heists! The green jewel is amazing and would make a great paperweight or decoration on a bookshelf. I can also see those masks coming in handy at Halloween … for those kids who of course aren’t dressing up as Hermione for the second year in a row.

The book pick for August was The Good Thieves by Katherine Rundell, a repeat author for OwlCrate Jr! This book came signed by Katherine, with an author letter and bookmark from the publisher. Every month OwlCrate Jr includes a mini magazine with author interview, book recommendations, puzzles/games and photo challenge information.

Overall Rating: A+

• Aladdin Funko 3/3: (I think I enjoyed this more than my little due to nostalgia, but it is adorable!)

• Robin Hood & Little John Magnetic Bookmarks 3/3: I love anything and everything Craftedvan does, and likely always will!!

• Thief Kit (Mask, Journal, Jewel) 3/3: My daughter loves this kit and plays with it constantly. A major hit in this house!

I’m really impressed with how well thought out August’s crate was. The thief kit was an immediate hit with my little and I personally love when anything Craftedvan is included. We really enjoyed Katherine Rundell’s The Explorer and are excited to read The Good Thieves. Can’t recommend OwlCrate Jr enough!
