The October OwlCrate box was stuffed full of unique items that I’ve never seen in book boxes before! Here’s a look inside:

Bowl Cozy designed by Janine Lecour and was inspired by the fabric featured on the cover of Spin the Dawn. I’ve never had a bowl cozy before, nor have I ever heard of such a thing … I’m so hip and with it, don’t you know … but this will be such a useful item when I’m having my lunch soup/pasta bowl while watching youtube, all while keeping my hands from burning. The pattern is also the stuff of dreams and I would happily have an entire duvet cover made out of it!

Bar of soap from Motherland Essentials. This is a very fresh smelling soap that reminds me of the Elven Loaf soap included way back in November 2017 – and I love it. Inspired by A Song of Wraith and Ruin, this dark black and green soap actually gives me Northern Lights vibes, and I am always game for bath products in our book boxes!

Bamboo phone stand featuring a quote from The Star-Touched Queen was designed by Lady Chubb Letters. This useful item is going to come in very handy when I’m next baking. I always listen to audiobooks while I bake, but this results in my phone ending up covered in flour as I inevitably forget where I’ve placed it … now I have a handy place to keep it safe and charged every night.

Wind chimes! Not just wind chimes, but star and moon wind chimes … I know I’ve said it to death that I’m obsessed with all things stars/moons/galaxies/celestial, but I’m equally obsessed with outdoor wind chimes. I don’t think these little chimes will be able to last too long outdoors, but I think it is a really neat item nonetheless.

An audiobook! I have had my eye on Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko for weeks and have almost purchased it on numerous occasions at my local bookstore, so I am so so happy OwlCrate included a complimentary audiobook code to libro.fm of this title. This is definitely the item I was most excited/surprised by this month!

Glass nail file featuring a quote from Girls of Paper and Fire. Okay, so I really really really didn’t like this book, but hey, can’t win them all and who can’t use a nail file to throw in their purse or travel bag?

Enamel pin of the month was designed by Hey Atlas Creative. I love the purple-blue-red colour scheme (just happens to be my little family of three’s favourite colours), but also this pin is huge!

The October book pick of the month was Legendborn by Tracy Deonn, which came with an exclusive cover, signed by the author, author letter, and artwork on the reversible dust jacket by Chibia Ulinwa (@inkus_dingus).
