The theme for the January Frostbeard Lit Box was Northern Expedition and delivered so many wonderful Golden Compass inspired items. Here is what was inside the box:

My favourite item has to be the leather compass keychain from JLJembroidery. I have put this on my suitcase … seemed like an appropriate place to guide my travels!

My hubby’s favourite item was this Aeronaut decal sticker – it’s the perfect retro style he adores, and we really don’t get enough Golden Compass inspired merchandise do we?

This gorgeous Aurora Boeralis enamel pin is even prettier in person! Very holographic and richly coloured, it glitters and sparkles just like the real Northern Lights … which I actually get to see from time to time, one benefit of living in the ungodly cold north. They are truly spectacular and this pin captures them perfectly.

Hot Chocolate Mix (Chocolatl Mix) from BackCountryFoodCo. Gluten free, vegan hot chocolate mix?? Ahhhh!!! It is so hard to find hot chocolate mix that fits these two categories, and being from a house full of allergies, I can’t even explain how much I appreciate this consideration. Hot Chocolate is a must for these cold weather months and I’m so happy I can indulge with this mix.

Svalbard Sky Nail Polish from RadiantlyVivacious … um, mood colour-changing sparkly nail polish? This is such a cool, unique item.

And of course the star of the box is our candle of the month, Aurora Dust. This absolutely gorgeous soy candle (look at that mix of light and dark purples!) has notes of amber, incense and almond. I really like this candle and was pleasantly surprised because incense isn’t really my thing. This is much more subtle and the notes of almond and amber make it a warm, comforting scent. I’m really enjoying burning this through these cold, cold … cold nights in Alberta.

This was such an excellently curated winter box and I can really see the thought that the team put into it. I am so grateful for the consideration of a gluten free, vegan item and highly recommend trying this box out for yourself or as a gift for a book lover. It is such a treat from a truly lovely company. Please use my code aotales10 to save yourself 10%.
