The theme for March’s OwlCrate Jr box was “Code Breakers” celebrating all things puzzling, coding, and of course, spies! So basically everything my 12 year old self was obsessed with … Here’s what was inside:
No body beats Usborne Books brain teaser and puzzler activity books! They aren’t messing around and some of these puzzles can be tough, but this Brain Games book seems a little more manageable and has arrived at the perfect time … filling up all these endless hours at home!
Another great time-filler is this itty bitty card game, Iota, from Gamewright. Gamewright makes some awesome games that are beloved by my family and I am excited to get into this card game on our next game night.
I love that OwlCrate Jr gave nod to Ada Lovelace, one of the world’s first, but mostly overlooked, computer programmers. This hardcover notepad features the quote from her: “The more I study, the more insatiable do I feel my genius for it to be.” It was designed by Hey Atlas Creative and I just love the bright rainbow background!
Also including this month is a code-your-own game instruction card. This “Bat In a Flap” computer game was created by software developer Max Wainewright and includes step by step instructions for kids to code their own computer game! Such a clever item! This team never ceases to amaze me with their excellent ideas and goodies that tie so well into their themes.
The adorable sticker of the month was designed by Shafer Brown and is my daughter’s favourite sticker so far!
The book pick for March was City Spies by James Ponti and came signed, with an author letter AND an exclusive cover for OwlCrate Jr!! Each month OwlCrate Jr includes a magazine with interviews with the author, community members, games, puzzles, recommended reads and more!
A great box with so many well thought out and themed items, and I definitely appreciate the new time passing actives to dive into in the coming weeks! Sign up for April’s “Cabin in the Woods’ box now, and use code TALES15 to save 15%off your subscription!
